Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a safe, non-invasive method of improving the appearance of your teeth. We use a system called ‘Home Whitening’ where we supply you with custom-made, comfortable, soft whitening trays and a whitening gel kit. These whitening trays are loaded with the gel and worn for a few hours each day or overnight, typically over a two-week period to achieve the desired outcome. A choice of whitening gel is available.

Microabrasion and ICON

Microabrasion and ICON are gentle, minimally invasive treatments which can be used improve the appearance of white spots on teeth. White spots can appear for several reasons including fluorosis, childhood trauma, decalcification of the enamel due to lack of brushing whilst wearing braces, and illness during pregnancy or premature birth.

Microabrasion involves gentle removal of a very thin layer of enamel to correct superficial surface stains. ICON involves using a special gel to penetrate the enamel pores, then a resin is applied to infiltrate the enamel, allowing it to blend in with the rest of the tooth. Both techniques are painless and do not require any drilling or anaesthetic.
