Our Specialist Orthodontist Kate House provides a range of private orthodontic treatments for adults and children.

  • Metal Braces

Metal braces have been used by orthodontists for many years to create beautiful smiles. The small metal brackets are attached to the tooth surface using a dental adhesive and a series of arch wires are used to gradually align the teeth.

Metal braces are the most cost-effective option to improve your smile. For those patients who are concerned about the appearance of metal braces, we also offer tooth-coloured braces or Invisalign as more cosmetic options.

  • Invisalign

Invisalign is an ideal solution for orthodontic patients concerned about wearing fixed braces. They are a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners which gradually straighten your teeth to the final prescribed position.

Each aligner is worn for around 7-10 days for 20-22 hours each day and should only be removed at meal times and when cleaning your teeth.

  • Tooth-coloured (Ceramic) Braces

Suitable for adults or children, tooth-coloured braces are an aesthetic alternative to traditional metal braces.

They work in the same way as metal braces but are more discreet as they are made of a translucent ceramic which allows your natural tooth colour to show through.

  • Retainers

Once your orthodontic treatment is complete, you will need to wear retainers to keep your teeth in their new position to maintain your new smile. If they’re not worn as advised, it’s highly likely that irregularities will reappear.

Retainers are removable or fixed – fixed retainers being low-profile wires cemented to the posterior surface of your teeth. We usually recommend that removable retainers are worn at night-time only.
